Butter Bean Hummus

I love this easy vegan, gluten free and recipe packed with Protein, Antioxidants, Folate, Zinc, Selenium, Thiamine, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Manganese and Vitamins C, E, K and B6.

This recipe takes about 15 minutes to make and yields about 3 side dish portions. You can keep this Butter Bean Hummus in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 4 days.


  • 1 large red onion – peeled, chopped, drizzled with 1 tbs olive oil and baked for 10 minutes
  • 1 tin organic butter beans (I like Biona Organic)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, peeled
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 3 tbs tahini paste
  • juice of half a lemon
  • salt and pepper to taste


Add all the ingredients to a blender (I used my Nutri Bullet) and blend – enjoy!
